Comment Policy

The Barnard Center for Research on Women encourages comments and discussion of BCRW Blog Content. Comments are approved or deleted at the discretion of the moderators. If we feel your comment is conducive to a productive discussion, we will not approve it. Especially not OK are comments that:

  • Include hate speech
  • Personally attack individuals
  • Are off-topic and/or contain spam

If you are responding to something in a post or another comment, we encourage you to quote the piece you’re responding to. If you’d like to offer feedback on a post but would rather not comment publicly, please email us.

A more comprehensive comment moderation policy will be put in place as we evolve, and we hope you’ll let us know what you think should be included! In the meantime, check out these awesome comment policies for general guidance:

My concept of Utopia would be a country in which issues like abortion and birth control would no longer be considered controversial and just a part of women’s healthcare – for those who want to avail themselves of it. There would be no more public discussion of these issues. They would just be considered a basic right.
