I&#8217;ll be leaving from campus at around 5:15 if anyone wants to go.<\/li>\n<li>bell hooks is conducting a week of discussions at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newschool.edu\/lang\/bell-hooks-scholar-in-residence\/\" target=\"_blank\">the New School from October\u00a05-9<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Nicole recommends <a href=\"http:\/\/hsanyc.org\/pueblo-harlem\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pueblo Harlem<\/a>,\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_234388765\"><span class=\"aQJ\">October 10<\/span><\/span> from <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_234388766\"><span class=\"aQJ\">11am-7pm<\/span><\/span>. \u00a0It will be at the Harlem School of the Arts on 141 and St. Nicholas Avenue. It might get you in the mood for talking about Shange&#8217;s interest in Caribbean\/Nuyorican\/Latin@ cultures.<\/li>\n<li>Coincidentally, MadibaMist is having a screening\/discussion of Thomas Allen Harris\u2019 critically acclaimed film,\u00a0<strong>\u201cThrough a Lens Darkly\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0(which is on the syllabus for next semester)\u00a0on 10\/10 **not free**<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Zaki is coming to class on October 22 and October 23rd. <\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">This will involve some adjustment of the syllabus&#8211;stay tuned for details.<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve added a new &#8220;music blogpost&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/bcrw.barnard.edu\/digitalshange\/blog\/2015\/10\/04\/i-live-in-music-blogpost\/\">prompt<\/a>.
