On February 7, 2017, Republicans in the Senate blocked Senator Elizabeth Warren from reading a letter by Coretta Scott King detailing the racist actions of Trump Attorney General Jefferson Sessions at his Senate confirmation hearing. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said, “She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted.”
