The speakers approach the global legacies of Fanon\u2019s thought on \u2018archives of the possible,\u2019 which illuminate approaches to the problem of democratic education and the crisis of the university in our times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event features:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A talk by Dylan Rodr\u00edguez (Distinguished Professor in the Department of Media and Cultural Studies and the Department of Black Study at UC Riverside and winner of the 2022 Frantz Fanon Award for Outstanding Book in Caribbean Thought).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A response by Ezekiel Dixon-Rom\u00e1n (Professor of Critical Race, Media, and Educational Studies at Teachers College, Columbia University).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Q&amp;A with the audience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Freedom and Insurgence<\/em> launches a <a href=\"https:\/\/bcrw.barnard.edu\/staging\/2435\/projects\/the-university-and-crisis-working-group\/\">new faculty working group on the university and\/in crisis<\/a> directed by C. Riley Snorton (Columbia) and Anupama Rao (Barnard), and spearheaded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialdifference.columbia.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Center for the Study of Social Difference<\/a>, the Barnard Center for Research on Women, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/gordon.tc.columbia.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Edmund Gordon Institute for Advanced Study<\/a>.
