TIP: #BlackHomework for black women?

One of my most newer favorite podcasts, Denzel Washington is the Greatest Actor of All Time Periodfrequently refer to “Black Homework”–elements of culture that are so talked about/ referred to in Black communities, that you can’t really feel in the conversation unless you know about them.

I thought about the concept of #BlackHomework when listening to Amanda and Yemi recommend blogs and websites for keeping up on contemporary conversations about race and blackness. Nicole has the “archived” list written in her notebook, but

So are these part of your #BlackHomework? What movies, videos or books would you include?

Also, people really liked some of the layouts on the site. Let us know in the comments.

Prof. Hall, I love that podcast!!! I've also heard "Black Homework" used in this context on one of my favorite podcasts-- The Friend Zone . Movies/Videos/Books that I think should be added to your #BlackHomework: "Trash," "Medicine for Melancholy," "Black Mirror"--super interesting series grappling with social media and the way the internet has changed society, "Strolling" and "Ackee & Saltfish"-- short film series by Cecile Emeke, "The Grey Album: On the Blackness of Blackness" by Kevin Young, "The Coldest Winter Ever" by Sister Souljah

Hey! I could have sworn I've been to this website before but after browsing through some of the post I realized it's new to me. Anyways, I'm definitely glad I found it and I'll be bookmarking and checking back often!
