Matt Remle: Militarism and Environmental Racism Against Indigenous People

In this excerpt from the April 2, 2018 Queer Anti-Militarism Townhall at the Seattle Public Library, Matt Remle says, “One of the other angles I wanted to bring in about militarism that’s often overlooked but has a deep impact on tribal communities is what we would call environmental racism…. We live with the consequences of US militarism in our health, daily.”

In the wake of Trump’s trans military ban, we’ve been flooded with patriotic and pro-military images of trans military service. But what about how we hate war and militarism? In this townhall, speakers explore queer and trans resistance to militarism and the racist, sexist, transphobic, and environmental violence of U.S. imperialism.
