Worlds of Shange Panel II: A Poetic Possibility/a Poetic Imperative

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Africana Studies at Barnard College, the Africana Studies Program, the Consortium for Critical Interdisciplinary Studies, and the Barnard Center for Research on Women organized The Worlds of Shange Conference. For two days in February 2013, the conference brought together scholars and artists shaping scholarly and popular conversations about African American arts and letters and gender in the African Diaspora for a thorough examination of Ntozake Shange’s diverse body of work.

This panel featuring Mecca J. Sullivan and Soyica Diggs Colbert was moderated by Kim F. Hall. The discussion also included Harryette Mullen, who is not included in the video at her request.
